Since late 2020, the two companies have been working together to develop, test, and produce a packaging line tailored to the product’s specific characteristics. Quick Plug’s plugs are made from a bonded substrate specifically developed to promote rapid and uniform root development. Unlike loose materials such as peat or coco, the mixture remains compact, firm, and easy to control in use. The solution was laminated kraft stand-up pouches with an inner barrier layer, grip closure, and tear-off header. This combination of material and construction provides a natural appearance while delivering maximum protection against external moisture.
At the same time, expertise in packaging regulations played a key role. Since the products are sold in multiple countries, the stand-up pouches had to comply with different requirements. Thanks to DaklaPack’s advice on aspects such as barcoding, the final product could be fully tailored to market demands across all regions.
